It seems like a good time to make a musical celebration of this happy occasion of his leaving office. Here are some teary tunes for the crybaby. (Maybe you can add other "crying" songs to the list.)

"Hit The Road Jack"- Ray Charles "Crying Time"- Ray Charles "Cry Me A River"- Julie London "96 Tears"- Question Mark & The Mysterians "A Little Bitty Tear Let Me Down"- Burl Ives "Cry Baby"- Janis Joplin "Cry Baby Cry"- The Beatles "Why Baby Why"- George Jones "Tears Of A Clown"- Smokey Robinson & The Miracles "The Tracks of My Tears"- Smokey Robinson & The Miracles "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"- The Beatles "Cry to Me"- Solomon Burke "Ain't That A Shame"- Fats Domino "Tear In My Beer"- Hank Williams Jr. "Trouble Of The World (No More Weeping And Wailing)"- Mahalia Jackson |
(Now we have to get McConnell out of there, and make him cry.)
D*** straight. Us old farts know the good music. Any one remember Patrick Sky “Songs That Made America Famous”
"Town Crier" - Linda Scott
They were the anti-Beatles. US GIs drafted in the Army in the 60s, serving in Germany. When the Cuban missile crisis happened, they were told to watch the Berlin Wall for attackers.
They shared concert bills with Jimi Hendrix (they were on the same label) and Bill Haley (Rock Around The Clock).
They met in the rec hall and formed a band (surf/R&B) but had to change to the beat sound when the Beatles came to prominence. So they used a banjo for a crunchy bass sound and cut the opposite of a Beatles haircut (shaved out the middle) and wore rope ties.
They did a few reunion shows about a decade ago (their first US shows ever) but at 2 members have since passed on (including the singer).
