You will fully miss the point if you try to understand that guy through a conservative vs liberal lens.
He has his own points and he seems to genuinely care about people. It shows again and again.
But he will throw in a twist here and there by saying self defense with a gun is reasonable.
Drop the blinders and take an honest look at that guy, he’d be a fine neighbor. The ultimate test.
