The lawsuitstill in effect despite the family's movesays that in previous years the boy has hit a baby with his hand, has spat at neighbors in addition to trying to ride his bicycle into them, and has sat on a neighbors cat on numerous occasions.
In October a Santa Clara County Superior Court judge issued a preliminary injunction (an order in the early stages of a lawsuit) to ensure that the boy didnt hit or assault anyone or their personal property in the neighborhood.
Neighbor Sue Alford, who did not file the suit, told Mercury News, We all met with them and talked to them about their son, but they didn't see our point of view. We wanted the street to be a safe place for other children.

No I don’t. Given the information it is a foolish premise.
Even an autistic person knows how to avoid getting hurt. They can learn to associate hitting a baby with an azz kicking.
The problem is they get coddled and indulged too much. The parents want to mainstream them while hiding behind “He’s handicapped” when the kid messes up too much. The WORST thing you can do for an autistic child is let them get immersed in rapid brain technology and every autistic kid I know has an iPad to keep them “quiet”. It just feeds all the bad traits(anti-social, obsessive, improper brain transition)
I an Aspie and my saving grace was that I was obsessed with reading.
The kid can’t help his mental deficiencies but can be held accountable for behavior.
The parents *can* help not punishing their child for assault.
“Vidyut Gopal said his family has their son in gold-standard therapy and tailor their lives around helping him to integrate in society. He said he hopes his neighbors drop their lawsuit so he and his family can move back”
Eventually, he'll assault a stranger ... and get a bullet between his eyes.
And the do-gooders will weep and wail and carry on about how he was really a good boy at heart ... so caring and sweet ...
Good comment. What are the options for parents of a kid they can’t control ... and I don’t mean beating the hell out of him.
Sorry, life got busy here. Options .....not many. Parents can request placement by Dr in a psych facility ( there are some really good places that work only with children) but, as I said these are high end places that can cost thousands of dollars a month and insurance does not cover.
Some parents have terminated their parental rights This was the only option available for my family member to get her son the treatment he needed.
Other parents that have adopted out of foster care and found themselves in tragic unworkable situations have dissolved the adoption or gone to a sort of clearing house to find a new family to “’re-home” these kids.
Some have abandoned their children on hospital doorsteps. Very sad
