Jack Larson, the playwright and librettist who, as he often predicted with good-natured resignation, will be remembered best as the actor who played the cub reporter Jimmy Olsen on the television series Adventures of Superman, died on Sunday at his home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. He was 87.

LOL...yep!
The bow tie gives it away.
MeTV that runs “Superman” on Saturday afternoons. I think Noel Neill was the second favorite pin-up girl of WWII.
Nah, it's because he spent half of each epi tied up, waiting for a guy in tights to show up...
According to the libs everyone is umpteen different kinds of sexes er I mean genders. However, Eleanor Roosevelt still looks sexier than Brad Pitt to me. What is wrong with me?
Jimmy Olsen’s Blues - Spin Doctors
Well, I don’t think I can handle this
A cloudy day in Metropolis
I think I’ll talk to my analyst
I got it so bad for this little journalist
It drives me up the wall and through the roof
Lois and Clark in a telephone booth
I think I’m going out of my brain
I got it so bad for little Miss Lois Lane
[CHORUS]
Lois Lane please put me in your plan
Yeah, Lois Lane you don’t need no Superman
Come on downtown and stay with me tonight
I got a pocket full of kryptonite
He’s leaping buildings in a single bound
I’m reading Shakespeare in my place downtown
Come on downtown and make love to me
I’m Jimmy Olsen not a titan, you see
He’s faster than a bullet, stronger than a train
He’s the one who got lucky, got his cape
Around Miss Lois Lane
I can’t believe my dilemma is real
I’m competing with the man of steel
Phyllis Coates...Aaauuuuaaah!
How come a “great metropolitan newspaper” only had four people working there?
Now I have to kill you Jimmy.
The first season was the best. Before the dumbed it down for kids. Great show. He will always be Superman to the baby boomers.
But in the DC comics he had a pretty blonde love interest who was a stewardess. That's ancient history. In the new "Supergirl" series on CBS, Jimmy is now James. And he's no longer a nerd.
Nor caucasian.
However, he still has a pretty blonde love interest...but now she's a super-hero.
And Lois Lane's sister is no longer a brunette.
And Lois Lane's sister is no longer aFixed.brunetteblonde.
Wait, which one is Lois? Either way, I didn’t see this in my comics.
Exactly what came to my mind ...
Uberman: I am.. Uberman! I have superhuman powers, and I fight for untruth, injustice, and the Nazi way! And I have X-ray vision!
Lois Laneoff: X-ray vision? Can you see through my clothes?
Uberman: Ya! And through his, too. [ points at Jimmy Olstein ] He's a Jew!
Jimmy Olstein: No! No, it's not true! My parents were just very advanced in hygeine, that's all..!
Hitler: Silence! Guard, take this Jew away!
Uberman: No need! I'll drop him off at the camp on my vay to the Eastern front!
"Supergirl" doesn't have access to the main characters that are being used in the movies (Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Perry White). So they're tapping into peripheral characters that most folks aren't too familiar with (other than Jimmy, of course).
The brunette next to James/Jimmy is Lucy Lane. The blonde facing them is Kara (Supergirl) Danvers.
Got it. This is not my century....
I agree. The first season had a more serious, film noir quality to it. The criminals were more sinister, and people sometimes died. In later seasons, actors like Ben Welden played the criminal parts more as comic foils rather than thugs, and the stories were geared more towards kids.
That Saturday Night Live Superman Sketch was hoot with Jimmy as Jimmy Olstein and Superman worked for the Nazi’s.
Golly
