And like em or hate em, ERCOT has done pretty nicely for Texas.

I've got an all-electric home and my last bill was under $60. We've had a mild summer which contributes to it but also Texas' enlightened approach to energy companies vigorously competing in an open market keeps prices low. Free enterprise is always a winner.
ERCOT has done a good job. I just hope the infrastructure can keep up with the increase in population. (That goes triple for water supply.)
Last summer they were a bit weak on the ‘reliability’ portion. They did much better this summer.
