Looks like they are taking anyone who is sick or injured. Maybe because they have a higher risk of dying and turning inside the protected zone.

So there are only 2 episodes left in this season and already humanity is confined to safe zones and presumably a large fraction of the city?, state? has been taken over by zombies. No explanation is given as to how this happened or why all society’s defenses collapsed. I thought this was what this series was supposed to depict. Instead we get- zombies appear...and society is dead.

Very good points.
And the characters are not communicating very much. They seem distant to each other. There seems to be little real connection going on.
At the end she went to the garage and he went to the roof is an example.
I definitely don’t pay attention to this show like I do The Walking Dead.

One was a sign on their own fence “Rev 214” made out of flowers or ribbons
The other was the text “and he shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, etc.” on a sign she passes when she is outside the fence.
