Do you trust the Gravis Marketing poll which had Trump at 30.8% in July, 40% in August & now at 22%?

No flaming others on this thread. Thanks.

With the thread title in mind, which polls do you trust?

Do you trust the "news" polls (as in CNN, ABC News/WaPo, NBC News/WSJ/Survey Monkey or do you trust unscientific online surveys/polls at Drudge Report and Breitbart?

How about Gravis Marketing?

NBC News Poll, Trump, August - 22%.

NBC News poll, Trump, September 6, 2015 - 28%.

Right now in the newest NBC News poll (thread at FR right now), Trump - 29%. No statistical improvement from 28%.

But Trump is down in the new CNN poll (from 32% just recently to 24% now) and down in the Gravis Marketing poll from where he was earlier (30.8% in July, 40.1% in August and now at 22%, tied with Fiorina.

It looks like Gravis Marketing was the cat's meow in past threads at FR with well over 300 replies on just one thread (link below) and many singing the praises of either Trump or Gravis Marketing - but maybe not so much now in the thread yesterday which has Trump at 22% - way down from July and August.

If a/any GOP candidate says they are leading in all of the polls, to which polls are they referring?

Drudge?

Breitbart?

Are those truly scientific polls?

Does that include leading in negatives among the potential GOP candidates?

Does that include not leading among Evangelical voters (Trump's 20% to Carson's 27%)?

Does that include not leading among those whom most people believe won the very recent CNN debate? Most scientific polls show that Fiorina won that debate.

I suspected that these polls have an agenda behind them.

All polls are useless unless we know the questions and how they are framed. I have taken several polls over the years by PPP in NC and after the first few questions it was fairly easy to see how they wanted the poll to turn out. Particularly so when Bev Perdue was part of the poll.

I no longer take part in any online polling aside from the occasional FR poll. Its all too easy to manipulate from the outside let alone setting them up from the inside.

Back in 04 I always voted for John Kerry in polls to screw with their results and look how it worked out. The liberals were sure the race was over and John Kerry was going to win by a landslide.

More recently in Great Britain the polls showed a majority supporting Scottish independence and a few months ago the polls showed labour winning by a landslide.

I think he’s an American who does not want to give up his country to illegal aliens.

What proof do you have? He has a history of opportunism and saying things for attention. I think his actions speak louder than words. He picked Corey Lewandowski as his campaign manager. Lewandowski is one of the biggest pro-amnesty shills in the GOP and a fair-haired boy of the GOPe. (Close friend of Priebus) If Trump was serious about immigration, I don't think he would pick Mr. Amnesty as his campaign manager.

Also, in 2012, his only criticism of Romney was that he was "too hard" on immigration.

He is also in an industry that is one of the most heavily dependent on illegals.

I don't trust McConnell and Boehner on illegals, and Trump neither.

Do you trust the poll that Anderson Cooper tried to use against Trump and Trump call him on it? Made Anderson Cooper look like an absolute idiot and liar. Exposed Anderson Cooper and the msm for the dishonest crooks they are.

Donald Trump to Anderson Cooper: ‘The people don’t trust you’

Trump, “Let me tell you, the people don’t trust you, and the people don’t trust the media. And I understand why,” he said. “Some of the political media is great and really honest. Even if they don’t want to be, they’re really honest. But I find that 60%, 70% of the political media is really, really dishonest.”

“I just think it’s really unfair. You’re talking about a poll I never even saw. It’s not even a poll,” Trump added. “You started off the interview with that. You don’t say I led in the Fox poll. I’m leading in the ABC/Washington Post poll. I’m leading across the board.”

Here ya go!!

I don't put as much reliance on polls as I put upon the turnout and energy of a candidate's rallies.

So long as Trump keeps filling 20,000 seat stadiums, he's the clear frontrunner. Once his rallies start looking like wakes like the one pictured below, then I'll know that Trump has lost his buzz.

We are not voting for any of The Cheap Labor Express candidates,

So instead, you'll go for a guy who makes his money in the hotel, casino, golf course, and construction businesses!

Let's see, Trump hires scads of busboys, dishwashers, maids, groundskeepers... and is simply itching to hire former inner city welfare cases?

Yeah, right. And you believe him too.

....” Trump is perceived as a winner, so maybe people will vote for him simply because of that”....

The question is why the media is pushing Trump? Obvious he’s entertaining and gets the media viewership for ratings, which is their primary concern. And Trump obviously gains for that advantage. But how long will the entertainment be enough?

As for Polls...nobody watches those more than Trump himself....that’s how he’s measuring his position. But we know Polls go up and down until the field narrows of candidates.......Trumps got to tighten up and realize the difference between a rally and a debate....you can be sure the media will as things draw closer to the election.

How come Trump supporters get to proclaim polls/media truthful when they say something about Trump, but declare them untrustworthy when there is the slightest hint of criticism?

How come you spent the last month trying to pooh pooh polls that showed Trump ahead? Hypocrite much?

His position paper on the topic is as good as I have seen. It would be hard to back away from it.

I still intend to vote for Cruz in March, but Trump is preferable to any of the rest and may be the only way to break the stranglehold of The Cheap Labor Express on the GOP.

Has anyone seen an iCarly rally yet? The pics that I’ve seen of them look about as small as Yeb!s. Maybe 15 people in the photo LoL.

And not public events that already have other attractions; only rallies that iCarly is the only attraction.

I still intend to vote for Cruz in March, but Trump is preferable to the rest. They are telling me upfront they won’t uphold the laws. ¡Yeb! spends half his time campaigning in a foreign language to foreigners who can’t vote (legally).

Oh, please. Find a SINGLE thread where I "pooh poohed polls that showed Trump ahead." Because I didn't. I think polls this early are stupid, let alone most polls. I have criticized Trump for being a liberal, a phony, and a liar. I have bashed the media. But I didn't talk try to justify the polls one way or the other.

Now go look. If you find me saying otherwise, throw it in my face. Otherwise come back and apologize. Because it's not true.

Members of the Cheap Labor Express like Trump, you mean? Look at his positions before he ran (look at what he said about Romney’s squishy stance on immigration—he thought that Romney was TOO HARSH, for goodness sake). Look at his own use of cheap Chinese and Mexican labor. Open your eyes, you are being lied to on a daily basis by a charlatan in Trump who will tell you whatever you want to hear.

Sounds like Gravis Marketing’s polling accentuates shifts in momentum... which would be a deceptive, but clever-if-successful technique to grab headlines and excitement.

Watching a Trump supporter call other Republicans RINOs is hilarious.

Although, I guess for much of his career, Trump wasn’t even a Republican in name....

Giving any poll any value more than a year before a Presidential election is ridiculous.

***************

Agree that time is an important factor. However we are about 6 months out from
the nominee selection process to begin. That will basically be over within less than 3 months
after it starts. So these early polls aren’t the end all results but they are getting closer to
being indicative of the public thinking.

Uhm, it's called a "policy paper."

Got any other asinine questions predicated on tin-foil conspiracy theories?
