Ping for your lists, perhaps.

I’m sensing a lot of sarcasm in those comments.

So, this is for jailbreaked, uh, jailbroken iPhones? What a bunch of whiners.

Apple makes a Move from Android to iOS app to help switchers move their data, documents, emails, contacts, bookmarks, photos, music, etc., for the Android Play Store, but Android users trash it in ratings and comments, even if they are not downloading it or using it. — PING!

No, it's for Android phones to allow the Android user to switch all their stuff to their newly acquired iPhones.

Actually, it is kind of funny.

However, does anyone see the irony in this?

I wonder if Apple would allow the same thing on their ITunes website? That would be the test of a true open free market device and software.

If they have done it already, then kudos, if not then it is indeed the old Apple.

Also, I wonder if you have to buy the apps from Apple that you got free from Google play. I am betting the answer is yes.

That’s cool. Unlikely that I would do it but nice to know just the same.

Waiting for a “Move to Android” app in the Apple App Store ...

So basically, they’re just pissed because Apple made an Android app that allows people to migrate from Android to iOS.j

They also made an app so Windows users could migrate to Mac/OSX.

I don’t recall MS pitching a fit over it. Maybe they did, I just never heard it.

The question is: does it works as intended, and work well?

I got no complaints about the windows to Mac app.

That would be up to google, wouldn’t it? Of course with all the fragmentation of Andriod, it might take a while - if ever.

If the apps were free on Google Play, they’re probably also available for free on Apple. Google Play is less lucrative, so developers normally target Apple first, Google second.

The irony is too rich. They whine about “fanboys” at Apple, and yet my experience is Android is a cult - and an evil one at that (any company who’s motto is “Don’t Be Evil” must be evil.”

This is stupid and pointless.

If these folk wanted to do something useful, they could write an IOS app to do the opposite thing.

Which would be great, right? Why do those people even care?

Wait ... I thought that behavior was considered “cultish” and that “Apple users were like a cult”? Why, that must be crazy talk.

You don’t see Mac Users berating people who chose to leave their Mac behind. If it’s not for you, that’s fine. It’s called “Choice”.

But, if you dare leave the herd, and to to Apple - why, you must be in a “cult”

Strangely, the people I have talked to never seem to see the irony in this at all.

Also, I wonder if you have to buy the apps from Apple that you got free from Google play. I am betting the answer is yes.

There are more free apps on the Apple App store than on Google Play store, and fewer ad supported apps.

In answer to your other question, Apple helped Android users who had switched from iPhones to Android who were having problems transferring their iMessages from their old iPhones. Apple does provide the means for exporting the data in their files, emails, bookmarks, contacts, etc. all inindustry standard formats for import into other devices.

The complaints about design and useability seem reasonable to me. The complaints against Apple poaching Android users, not reasonable. I have an Android phone.
