As a courtesy to you, I have pinged the boss. Although I don't want to bother him at this late hour in Fresno, if people like myself and others on the thread are detrimental to the reputation of Free Republic, then I'll await a justifiable zot from the boss and wish you, as a defender (if not admirer) of Ahmed Mohamed nothing but the very, very best going forward, FRiend! Thanks so much for keeping me in mind and be assured you'll be in my prayers if I'm vaporized from this site.
You are just discriminating against a [Muslim] kid whom likes to tinker with electronics.
Those of you casting blame at this [Muslim] kid should all be ashamed of yourselves!
Then, the dumbasses here are doubling down on the stupidity and fanning the flames with anti-Muslim rhetoric, instead of seeing this for what it was: A [Muslim] kid whom likes to tinker with electronics and brought one of his projects to school to show off.
I agree that its not exactly an engineering masterpiece, but that doesnt mean it was built [by a Muslim] with malicious intent.
Screw you again for calling me a liar. I sure as hell hope you arent involved in any way with schooling children.

I hate to keep pestering you but Rush Limbaugh has picked up on the story (if not this particular thread). Since Rush uses FR for his show prep, it's a good bet that he's been following the give-and-take here on this forum. So it has been widely disseminated in the media.
America's anchorman stated:
To the uneducated, untrained eye, this looks like a bomb. It looks like a timer of some sort. But whatever, this is not a clock, as the media is reporting. The media's telling you, "Poor Mohamed! All he did was take his science project to school -- it was a clock -- and these racist, homophobic Irving school people, look what they did! They called the cops and the cops arrested him and they've been stigmatized." That? Try getting that through Homeland Security.
By the way, the police say that they only arrested 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed because he could not explain to them what his thing was. Why couldn't he tell 'em it was just a clock? I suspect one of the reasons is, it didn't look like a clock.
A clock can be many things. A clock could be a timer. It could be a sundial. But you look at the two pictures that we have here, there's nothing here that makes you think this is a clock. Maybe a timer in there, but you can't even see that. It was only after he could not explain to the police that they arrested him.
I welcome our host’s comments on this topic. I stand behind my comments. Your attitude is wrong, it is anti-American, and anti-liberty.
