You couldnt pay me to wear a Yankees Jersey (ever) to a Red Sox game!
Good decision! I have been to nearly all of the NFL stadiums, and I have found southern fans to be generally great (most people are pretty well-behaved everywhere of course; it's always a minority of fools); however fans in the South seem to be a little more disinterested because college ball is the true love.
I hate to say it, but I had the best experience in Pittsburgh. They were awesome fans and generally just wanted to have fun.

I don’t think it’s disinterest, as much as it is manners. We’re taught that from birth.
The Panthers have been sold out since our first season at Bank of America stadium (2nd year in the league), it’s how we built the stadium (PSL’s).
It took a few years for us to gain that intense fan following that comes from generational fans.
Funny you mention Pittsburgh. The first few years the Panthers played the Steelers there were as many yellow shirts in the stands as there were blue.
Now you might see 1000 out of 80,000.
This year for the first time, during the preseason game between the two teams, I saw Panther shirts, and Jerseys in Pittsburgh.
