The reality of the situation is that porn has driven home technology/media adoption for the last 40+ years, at least since the Betamax VCR. I don’t see any reason why home robotics should be any different.

I’ve said for a while there is a huge market for this just waiting in China, given the imbalance in the male/female population due to the one child policy and cultural drives for male offspring.

You can bet the first use and the driver behind refinements of the holodeck will NOT be embedding in a “Dixon Hill” novel or looking at sunsets on the home world.
