President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry spent years negotiating an incredibly lucrative nuclear deal with Iran that not only paved Irans way to nuclear weapons technology, but also meant the release of $150 billion that will likely be used for nefarious actions against Israel and the United States in the future.
While all of that was taking place, our neighbors to the north took a drastically different course of action.
In 2012, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced that Canada had expelled all Iranian diplomats, but they didnt stop there.
The Canadian government labeled Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism and pulled the plug on the Canadian embassy in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
Canada views the government of Iran as the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today, Baird announced.
While Obama and Kerry sipped tea with Iranian government officials, Canada ceased all ties with the barbaric sponsors of terror, as they obviously knew that any type of relationship with Iran was nothing more than volunteering to be the victim in a national security con game.
Some of Bairds specific reasons for ceasing ties with Iran included, at the time, Irans failure to comply with United Nations resolutions pertaining to its nuclear program, as well as their increased level of military assistance to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.
Of course, Irans highly publicized close ties to terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah helped seal the deal .
Ironically, we often tease the Canadians for being too nice, but when it concerns national security, Canada made it crystal clear that they mean business.
Since theres no hope of Obama changing his mind anytime soon, perhaps our future leaders could take a few notes from the Candians playbook,
When you are to the left of Canada it’s time to take a serious self inventory.
Someone needs to set an example. I’m glad Canada did.
This seems curious since Canada is basically still ruled by the crown. The CIIA (Canadian Institute for International Affairs) is closely affiliated with the RIIA (Royal Institute for International Affairs) and the CFR. Good cop/bad cop?
Oh, Canada! I’m so envious of your Leadership.
When do we start playing cowboys and mozlums????? Huh?
One of our daughters and her family were transferred to Canada. They liked it pretty well, but were unimpressed with their public school system. They put their kids in a Catholic school.
The US is about to become the largest financier of terrorism. There should be serious consequences to the US for that act, too.
Sadly, our leadership will likely change next month. The unbelievably flakey boy child of Pierre Elliot Trudeau could take over as our p.m. I blame our ultra left media.
Je suis tellement! (I’m so sorry!)
It seems Canada has it’s own dynasty issues just as we do here with The Clintons and The Bushes.
Being from Michigan, near Ontario, I recall the many antics of his mom, Mademoiselle Margaret Trudeau. With her uninhibited diva behavior, she was “Princess Di” before there even was a Princess Di.
We are? News to me, and I've lived here my whole life.
Shocking what people don't know about who rules over them ayup.
Yeah, but they have smarter politicians than we do.
I wonder why my local rag didn’t mention this.
“Since theres no hope of Obama changing his mind anytime soon, . .”
obama is an infestation of evil in our land, it is not his mind to change,
I wouldn’t count on that. The majority would still like to have the adults in charge.
Canada Ping!
Hope you’re right! The thought of another Prime Minister Trudeau sends chills.
The thought of another Trudeau as PM makes me nauseous.
