A new video appears to show Russian soldiers in Syria

Reports of Russia's military presence have concerned leaders around the world, and on Saturday media said two Russian planes carrying aid landed in Latakia.
It took a while for Russian leaders to acknowledge reports the country is helping Syria beyond funding and humanitarian aid, but leaders confirmed Wednesday there are Russian advisers in the war-torn country after witnesses in Syria saw Russian ground troops.
A new video uploaded on YouTube appears to show the Russian soldiers in Syria.

US officials said they believed about 200 Russian naval infantrymen are stationed in Syria's coastal city of Latakia, the same regime stronghold that received Russian aid Saturday.
What seems to be certain is that Russian aid landed in Latakia safely, supporting the Syrian government. Here are photos of the plane that circulated on Twitter.

There are currently a series of Syrian-Russian war games taking place.
The Syrian mil has to know how to interact with the Russian marines, naval forces (includes several missile ships and one Typoon nuke sub Donskoy /TK 208/ w/nukes) while using/interacting with Russian equipment: including MiG-31s, Kornet antitank missiles, BA82A fighting vehicles, KamAZ-6560 trucks.
This may have little to do with fighting ISIS, or even keeping Assad in power, but rather “protecting” Israel’s Leviathan oil field - one of the largest in the world, and building a pipeline to Turkey.
Russia wants the gas/oil.
Does Mother RUSSIA still consider itself to be the protector of Middle Eastern Orthodox Christians?
I am not sure if they spell it out officially one way or the other. Since Putin’s aim is to revive old Russian empire(he wanted to be a leader like Peter the Great,) I suspect that he also wants to play the protector of Mid-Eastern Orthodox Christians.
If the Russians fight ISIS, good! But I don’t really have my hopes up, I think this is more about a general stabilization of the Alawite homeland and others per a map of Syria, in other words, Eastern Syria near the Mediterranean Sea.
To use homemade “barrel” bombs as the Syrians have had to do shows they’ve in fact, have had to run pretty short of Soviet/Russian made military equipment. That is a desperate measure.
Interesting picture of the vehicle. One should never underestimate an adversary. However, look at the chocks on the wheels, just what they can find.
Doesn’t really matter though... this isn’t good.
You mean those “Christians” who revered Assad as God like Germans did Hitler?
You mean those Christians who revered Assad as God like Germans did Hitler?
No. Absolutely not. I mean like the hundred of thousands of Christians that fled war town Iraq for Syria because they knew Syria was one of the few places in the region where Christians were protected.
Try to educate yourself beyond what the media and politicians want us to believe. In other words, get a clue.
