What's up with search?
Posted on 09/11/2015 2:25:46 PM PDT by Hugin
Search used to let you select Title to search for a particular word in the title of the article, which was the best way to find it. The default Keywords is unreliable. It no longer has that option.

The option is still there, but people fail to put in key words or words that pertain to the title.

Regardless, I prefer this:
Just add the search term ahead of the "site:", the space is already in there.

Yes, but I had scripting turned off. I turned it back on and it reappeared.

Keywords has always been unreliable as the default search. The default should be changed to the title.

When in doubt, just post the duplicate. If it’s nice, we’ll read it twice. Or more.

The search function on FR is one of the worst i’ve ever experienced. Just live with it.

If it doesn’t show up.

Yes, it is not well-equipped to handle those who do not know how to search.
