If Apple can induce “channels” to be sold as Apps this will (eventually) be transformative.

But Tim Cook lacks a Reality Distortion Field, so getting content providers to give up the gold mine that is cable may prove difficult.

You’re on the right track.

Something even more interesting: look for Apple to leverage an innovative non-internet delivery network using new old technology.

They are no doubt waiting to get their content ducks in a row; when they announce it it’s going to be huge.

Apple doesn't need to. . . many of them are already on the Apple TV. Right now, 69.1% of all streaming on-demand video is already sold through Apple TV.
