The SEC already held the record for most teams from one conference in the Top 25 with eight, a mark it matched in the preseason. After the conference went 12-1 to open the season, No. 16 Texas A&M and No. 25 Mississippi State moved into the poll to go with the eight teams already there.
Alabama moved up a spot to No. 2. The rest of the SEC roll call is: No. 6 Auburn, No. 10 Georgia, No. 14 LSU, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 20 Missouri and No. 23 Tennessee.

True dat. SEC fanatics are as misguided as democrats. How soon they forget that Alabama, Miss, Miss St, all lost their bowl games last year. Their top 3 teams...Top Ten teams all lost.
Mississippi lost by 39, Miss St by 15 and Alabama lost by a touchdown to a “weak” BigTen conference team.
Seems to me that the facts outweigh the claims.
After targeting Michael Brewer, the VT quarterback, when OSU was behind, breaking his collarbone, they knew they could beat the second string quarterback. Real #1 teams beat the best.
Real #1 teams beat the best.
Then who won the Ohio State and Alabama game in the last season, followed by Oregon?
Dang! I could probably see this from my house in Tallassee!
Good to hear. Bulldogs are Tiger Bait this weekend!
As long as we beat Georgia, I’ll be fine.
Alumni are crazy!
ROLL TIDE!!!
I was actually very proud of Alabama making it to the playoffs last season & was not shocked when we lost. It was a rebuilding year and, honestly, we overachieved. Roll Tide.
Just my daughter, not me.
Go Cocks! ‘87&’00.

Doesn’t the end of season top 25 matter a wee bit more? How did the SEC do in their most recent bowl games?
(SEC is good football, but let’s not get too excited after the week 1 poll.)
This weekend I was wearing my Ohio St champ t-shirt to the grocery store and this Auburn fan saw it and said that OSU was his 2nd fav team since they beat Alabama. Then he said that his work was having him working on Columbus OH for a few months and he was looking forward to seeing a buckeye game.
War Eagle!
Class of 71
As a kid growing up in GA I remember that GA-Auburn game that year. Till they ran into Bama.
Yeah like Alabama beat the Texas starting uh I mean second string QB in the BCS Champ game a few years ago.
Texas has a football team? Who knew?
I saw a bit of that ND-Texas game and I know its just Texas but ND has a pretty exciting offense. They could surprise a few people.
