Mystery fireball seen blazing across Bangkok sky caught on film

A mystery fireball seen blazing across the sky in northern Bangkok has been captured on film.
A dash cam captured the moment the fireball, thought to be a meteor, was seen over the Thai capital this morning.
The film shows a bright ball of flames move across the sky for a few seconds like a shooting star.
Locals took to social media to report sightings of the mystery blaze.
There has been no official confirmation of what caused the fireball.
However, local media reported that the Bangkok Planetarium said there had been no reports of a meteorite landing.
The Bangkok Post also said the fireball had been seen in other parts of the country.

Not much of a mystery if there’s a straightforward explanation for it. But neat to see if you were an eyewitness, no doubt.

They are relatively inexpensive and many people get them as a sort of “insurance” if they are in an accident cause by the shenanigans of another driver; be it road rage or drunk drivers, scam artists, etc. or even rogue cops. Some people use them to document road trips and sometimes they pick up interesting phenomena like meteors. Depending on the model, the cam can record hours of video before overwriting once capacity has been reached and some also record audio.
Dashcams are extremely popular in Russia where evidently there are a lot of bad drivers and insurance scammers and corrupt local cops who shake down drivers for cash if there is an accident – whether it is the driver’s fault or not. There are thousands of compilations of Russian dashcam videos.

Oh, it landed. Just many miles away. And in pieces so small you wouldn’t notice. While this expulsions look close, they are way up in the atmosphere.

Those Ruskie dashcam videos are also known as “vodka videos” since many of those crashes involve drunk driving.
If wrecking motorized vehicles was an Olympic sport Russia would take gold every time! They are simply the best at it.
If that video was taken in the afternoon then the car is traveling east based on the shadows cast. Could have been space junk or a meteor burning up. Considering how slow it was moving I would suspect space junk.
