Problem is the rule book doesn’t allow for punishment for past controversy, or failure to cooperate. Which is why it got thrown out. The league decided to be petty, and lost.
I assume you understand only the 4 game suspension was overturned? The Judge did not address the fines and lost draft choices penalties levied against the Pats and Brady.
Since the NFL has appealed the suspension may in fact be reinstituted.
