Tim Tebow's NFL career was believed to be over before the Philadelphia Eagles signed him this offseason. After a brief reprieve, Philadelphia released the quarterback Saturday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Philly cut ties with the former Heisman Trophy winner after it shipped quarterback Matt Barkley to the Arizona Cardinals in a trade for a seventh-round draft pick Friday, a deal reported by Schefter (via ESPN.com's Phil Sheridan).
On the heels of that move, it seemed as though Tebow would make the team. He certainly made a strong case for himself in the Eagles' preseason finale by outplaying Barkley significantly, as shown by the NFL's official Twitter account...

Well I'm not a Tebow fan but this surprised me. I really thought he'd played well enough for the third strings slot. But the Eagles are either going with two quarterbacks, unlikely with Bradford's health history, or they're going to pick a third string off the waver wires. Either way, Kelly must have seen something in Tebow's performance that most people missed.

The Redskins could use a QB.

Why doesn’t he play in Canada, sharpen his skills...and then return?

The Redskins could use a QB.Ditto the Jags. Actually, it's a shame the Cards didn't trade for Tebow instead; he would have been a good fit under Palmer.

The Jags have one of the best young QB’s in football. Not sure what you’re thinking there...

Too bad Tebow isn’t 35 yet. Tebow would make great conservative candidate. Of course then the birthers would show up not happy about his birth in the Phillipines even though both his parents are clearly NBCs.
Maybe he should run for Governor after Rick Scott’s term is up. Tebow’s that popular and would win in a landslide (And I’m an FSU fan).

Tebow looked very good against the Jets.
He has improved his pass accuracy.
I hope another Team picks him up.

Perhaps I’m a cynic but I think he is being tossed because of his known association with Christianity.

He had a 2 to 1 TD to interception ratio and a winning record. I’ve seen a lot worse 2nd and 3rd string QBs out there.
To: BenLurkin
Seems to me a guy that can win an NFL playoff would qualify as talented enough to WIN in the NFL and not just play don’t ya think?
Anyone that thinks this is about his performance, keep telling yourself that.

The Redskins could use a QB. They could have Tony Romo, but he's not a QB.
