Maybe it wasn’t the leukemia. Heart attack perhaps?

If he had chemo, who knows how much damage it did to his organs? Drugs are powerful and they may cure whatever they are intended to, but in the process they can damage health in other ways.

In any event, may God rest his soul and comfort his loved ones.

My best friend in high school died of a heart attack in July. He had suffered from cancer but was in remission. I have no idea if the two were connected.

He was 68 tho not in his early 40s.

My mother-in-law won her battle against ovarian cancer, but the chemo weakened her heart. She died of heart failure at age 54 one year after being declared free of cancer.

Late response, sorry. The thing about Leukemia. If he had relapsed, he could die of heart attack or stroke. Not so much from chemo damage, but from a lack of oxygen from needing a transfusion or 2 or 3 . Or low platelets causing internal bleeding. Or from infection from the inefficiency of overloaded immature immune system.
