Donald Trump isn't going on the attack against Ben Carson not yet, at least.
"Well, I'm much better as a counterpuncher, so I'd rather have, and I'm hoping for Ben to really hit me at some point, because I love to counterpunch," the Republican presidential candidate said in response to a question on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," adding that the retired neurosurgeon has "been very nice to me, he's actually a really nice guy."
. Trump remarked that he and Carson get along well, and that he gets along well with most of the other people who will be appearing with him on the debate stage on Sept. 16.
"And it's interesting, but I think Im probably going to wait," Trump said. "I do have certain things to say, but I'm not going to be saying them for a little while. Lets see what happens."
On Thursday, a Monmouth national poll revealed that among several Republican contenders, only Carson defeated Trump in a hypothetical matchup (55 percent to 36 percent).
In an interview with the Daily Caller on Wednesday, Trump was questioned whether Carson had the right experience to be president.
Hes really a friend of mine, I just think its a very difficult situation that he puts himself into, to have a doctor who wasnt creating jobs and would have a nurse or maybe two nurses. Its such a different world. Ive created tens of thousands of jobs over the years," he answered.
Aides for Trump's campaign have been hesitant to criticize Carson as well, though one staffer did take a shot at Carson's endorsement of legal relief for immigrants who come to the United States illegally
DT doesn’t like any criticism from anyone.
Please be warned.
If he comes after Trump, then he will respond?
Gee, the horror.
I think Trump was saying this in jest. He and Ben are very good friends. I heard the interview and didn’t take it seriously.
Not as high as I was on the Donald after his comments on the jailed Christian decision. And YES, that is my number 1 priority as a Christian.
Like I said, I am FAR from a fanatic. Wish I was.
But God’s not going to ask me what my stand was on illegal immigration. He might, however, ask why I did nothing when of his people was jailed for believing in him.
He wasn’t talking about criticism. He was talking about a “hit”.
Trump has thin skin. He takes criticisms as hits.
I think The Donald has a plan. I just hope it the one I outlined above (or something similar).
We will do just as the Christians did when Paul and Silas were jailed - we will continue to pray for release. We can also hold rallies, but other than that - we have to wait for God’s answer to all of this. What are we going to do - orchestrate a jail break? And, you are wrong about illegal immigration - the Bible has much to say on this subject as well.
I actually see Trump’s responding to criticism refreshing after watching Bush Jr. get DECIMATED in the media while he just ignored it all. How did THAT turn out for his family legacy? lol
Imperial Dark Lord has given his warning.
Yes, I have attacked you but you had better not attack me or I will release the flying monkeys1
I will vote for Trump against any evil demonrat, but for the primaries, I am back to Cruz after his strong stance on this jail nonsense.
However, I was really high on Trump before his security guard hit someone in the face, he threatened not to rebut Carson but to counter punch (and yes, he did say it in a threatening, immature, unnecessary way, and his stand on this Clerk being jailed.
Those of you who have read my posts know I was a drooling Trump fan before these things. Now, not so much.
Well then I will vote for Cruz and be covered before God on both issues :)
Well what I had hoped for all along may finally be coming to fruition, that those who dabbled with supporting Trump, eventually see that Cruz really is their guy, and now we’ll see Cruz start to surge.
He views all criticism as a hit.
It was a hit. Read the article about HH posted right here on FR and you will see that it was a setup.
Just keep in mind that if Trump wins he won’t be doing it alone.
He will have good people with him like Cruz and Palin that will have a voice.
Cruz lost big points with the 500 percent increase in h1b thing. Actually, to be fair, i have not done my due diligence on this claim.
However, if it is true, it is a wrong stance.
It is not in the interest of democracy or capitalism, but in the interest of the greedy slobs at google and Facebook and Microsoft etc.
The lie that there are not enough techs in the US has been refuted many times.
No worries. He has my vote if he wins primary.
Trump passed the “getting tiresome” barrier quite some time ago.
