Donald Trump is "totally pledging" his allegiance to the GOP and promising not to mount a potentially damaging third-party bid for president.
The billionaire businessman said Thursday he had signed the Republican National Committee's "Loyalty Pledge," which says he will support the eventual nominee and not run as an independent or on another party line.
"I will be totally pledging my allegiance to the Republican Party and the conservative principles for which it stands," said Trump.
Trump made his announcement at the Trump Towers lobby in New York City after meeting with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. While many had expected Trump would sign the pledge, one GOP source stressed this morning that, "With Trump, nothing is certain until it's final."
Trump was the only GOP presidential candidate not to raise his hand at last month's debate to pledge he wouldn't run as a third-party candidate.
Why don’t you email The Donald some sexy pics of yourself?
BTTT
Knock it off!....Freepers have every right to vet and give their opinions on any candidate.....when you make comments like that you’re simply showing ‘your opposed to freedom of expression’...which as Freepers we all have.
They’ll never be happy. Trump could appear with the ghost of Reagan, and they’d still find some reason not to support him.
No use arguing with those that dig up articles from by lefty sites, to *prove* their points....it’s like feeding the troll :)
Get a life or do some research on your eminent domain complaint. That has been addressed here many times and lots of people have stupid pasts but they can grow and change.
That is what I saw too, when I watched the debate. I have no idea what debate the NPR reporter watched
That pledge means nothing at all to Trump other than another photo opt and means to maintain his lead.....he’s a master at marketing his brand....this is simply another means of doing so.
Why is it that Trump only became a conservative after the tea party wave of 2010, one year before the 2012 elections? Because, as a business man, he saw an opportunity to exploit and maybe run for GOP nominee. Not because of some true conversion. He’s a fake.
I believe him.
Well, you’re not alone! Numbers don’t lie....polls consistently prove that the majority of folks are with you.
Some here are sullen that their candidate cannot get the wave of support that Trump has gotten.

I am confident we’ll see this 800 times in multiple threads before Hillary gets elected.
Really, who have you got? Tell me who can win. Let’s critique your candidate. Do you even have one? Please give me a reason I should all of a sudden get on board with someone else.
I prefer Cruz but he is not going to be the nominee. I like Jindal after him but that’s not going to happen either. I believe Trump would do better than Carson. So what have you got?
I fall into that sullen category, too. I am a Cruz fan to the end. I just don’t hate Trump for his success.
There are just as likely bash Trump forums you constantly negative people could enjoy.
Principles. I won’t vote for a covert liberal just because he can beat Hillary.
Now I require GOPe, Jebbie and the rest of those yah hoos to sign a pledge that they will support and help Trump when he wins the GOP nomination..
They better not do a repeat of George Romney in 1964..
Yep, and now that he has kissed the ring of the RNC and is no longer independent... which is the one admirable quality he had... not to mention, he seems to be moving way left on immigration from the presser... I’ll take the guy that has been fighting for conservatism his whole life.
He got boxed into boxing in the gope to support him when he wins
Good for you, tioga. Many here do seem to resent Trump for his success. I’ve even seen repeated posts lamenting over the money he inherited from his dad.
This is America....where we can still, for now, work hard, save, invest and leave personal property to our families. I scratch my head when I read those posts :-/
...” Many here do seem to resent Trump for his success”...
I don;t think people resent Trumps success at all....I think it’s more people don’t like it when elites claim they had it rough as if they relate to the common man....Trump was not the common man in respect of the advantages he had and should not try to equate on that level.
We’ll know by November, just a few months.
The Texas filing deadline and no candidate other than a Democrat can win without Texas.
