Hello Karl Rove and people that think like him and write columns telling us that we're "low information", "idiots", "crazies", "idol worshipers", and otherwise uninformed because we support Trump.
To start with, I don't know the numbers, but I suspect that most people on this site are like me and have closely followed politics FOR DECADES and therefore can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the Republican ruling class. Maybe other sites, like Yahoo or whatever, are filled with "low information voters", but NOT THIS SITE.
So I could spend an hours (or days, or months) parsing just about every line in every Trump hit piece, but I won't give you guys the honor of wasting my time. But I will say a couple of things:
1) I, like I suspect most of the people on this site, really didnt give a crap about Trump when he announced he was running - Cruz was our favorite, and Walker maybe our second favorite. We looked at Trump as a rich person that got off by entertaining people on the lower rungs of the economic ladder. When he did get into the race, most of us yawned. THIS IS NOT IDOL WORSHIP.
2) But I, like virtually every person out here (i.e., the ENTIRE Republican base, including people that are still against Trump) do care about Immigration, especially ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. But (other than Cruz) NONE of our candidates seemed to care AT ALL about the issue, and NONE of our candidates (Cruz included) made it the centerpiece of their campaigns. Instead about all we heard were things like my economic policy will only grow food stamps at only 5% per year, not 10% like Hillary wants to do - therefore Im a hard-right conservative - vote for me!. But Trump DID ADDRESS IMMIGRATION and thats when our ears went up...and the other candidates (most of them) still cannot even figure out where theyre permitted to stand on the issue, and yet still get the big checks you money-men.
Thats about all Im going to say - we moved to Trump because Trump, AND TRUMP ONLY, was willing to take on Illegal Immigration, HEAD ON, and if Illegal (and to some extent, legal) Immigration is not STOPPED, then our party, and our country is FINISHED. Bottom line, we dont really care where Trump stands on food stamps, taxes, funding erotic art, education, or anything else, because IT WONT MATTER if the Democrats are allowed to get this country flooded with Illegals that will then almost all vote Democrat. It wont matter at all.
So I hope YOU IDIOTS at National Review, Weekly Standard, and other so-called 'conservative' publications read this, because this is how 80% of the Republican base feels (or at least 80% of this site feels). So tell your Big Money friends that they can spend their money any way they wish, but THEY WILL NOT STOP US from choosing the only candidate who really seems concerned about the long-term survival of this country. It is THEM who need to get on board with trying to keep this country from going to hell, not us.
Anyway, thank you for your time. Good day.
Preach on brother Bob :-)
LOL!
And good day to you, too!
I took Trump seriously before the last election when his book came out, the same one that Newsmax is hawking now. Same message, same man.
Immigration is the only issue and immigration decides all other issue. And you're also right that only Trump is making immigration his top issue. Only Trump is saying the words DEPORT or Wall.
Thanks!
This is exactly how I feel. I think you got this 100% right!
Well stated. I thought the guy was a joke.
Now I just think he’s insane, and i’m loving it :)
like I said before in another post, my 82 year old mother said today “we need someone insane to save the country!” :)
I would be VERY happy if he made Cruz VP choice.
I would be VERY happy to see Cruz as president. Either he or Trump.
Woo Hoo! Wonder smack talk!
“I would be VERY happy if he made Cruz VP choice.”
I’m with you 100%, and I suspect that Cruz would be perfectly happy there - knowing that he’s young and has a great future ahead. In that scenario, not only will Cruz lock-down the evangelical vote for Trump (where he’s actually running weakest among conservatives), but the Birthers will get their chance to find out, once and for all, whether Cruz is considered American enough to run for top office. In other words, if Cruz does get removed as VP because of where he was born, that is MUCH BETTER for everybody concerned, than getting removed at the top of the ticket. How and if he gets removed is beyond my knowledge...maybe some court ruling, but I don’t know...all I want is to have it settled.
Hear, hear, Mr. BobL!
That describes almost precisely what happened with me, but the catalyst of the death of Kate Steinle really cemented in my mind that nothing else matters but the invasion of this country by illegal aliens and otherwise.
I am also not at all pleased with whole communities of muslims being brought here from wherever.
They might be here legally, but I do not want them here, I want them out.
Very well written, tyvm, good sir!
I just assumed he could be president. Didn’t the founding fathers tackle that issue?
Disclaimer: Very weak on constitutional issues.
One side comment:
About 2 months ago I was listening to a guest-host on the Micheal Medved show. I didn’t get the name, but he was interviewing a Republican insider. The guy said that prior to the start of this Primary season, he got all the Republicans together and they ALL agreed to not talk about what they consider to be ‘divisive issues’, with Immigration being the most ‘divisive’ since it means that we will lose the Hispanic vote, at least in their twisted minds (no word, either way, regarding Cruz being there, but it is implied when he said “all” Republicans). That was well before Trump started making noises about running, so I assume Trump wasn’t there (and we know he would not have agreed to crap)
So there it is, the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE to conservatives SINCE THE COLD WAR and every known candidate at the time was willing to TOTALLY IGNORE IT - and nearly got away with it, until Trump showed up.
That is why the base is FURIOUS and why most of us here are supporting Trump.
Thanks Chris, even if you are “heartless”. LOL.
+1
THe GOP has yet to understand that the illegal invasion unchecked, will destroy the party...no amount of pandering to illegals will grow the party. 40percent of Hispanics oppose illegal immigration in the US....its a myth that Hispanics are pro-amnesty. They aren’t. Yet the “compassionate conservative” Bush wing of the party that is trying to keep control of it, wants everyone to believe that lie. IMO these RINO republicans have allowed PC to rule over the facts and the law.
Amnesty, any way you cut it will do one thing...destroy the GOP and give power to DEMOCRATS basically for the next 50+ years...Republicans will be overwhelmed by these new Democrats and our votes totally useless.
Fundamental transformation complete. /end of America

I too...I just want it settled one way or the other.
Well said!
