James Bond writer says Adrian Lester would be a better Bond than Idris Elba; Twitter explodes; Update: Horowitz apologizes
Folks are furious today at Anthony Horowitz, the British novelist chosen by Ian Flemings family to continue write James Bond novels, and some comments he made about the appropriateness of black actor Idris Elba as the next James Bond. First up, here is what Horowitz is quoted as saying in an interview he gave to the Daily Mail:

It’s too bad Connery’s swan song was the dreck “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.” He realized it was rubbish when he was filming it but didn’t quit because he didn’t want the crew to lose their paychecks.

Every movie John Cazale was in was nominated for Best Picture, including “The Godfather 3” where there were flashback scenes from the first two “Godfathers” in it.
James Caan: if you haven’t seen the movie “Thief”, you’re missing out.
“The Deer Hunter”: Probably the greatest American movie ever made IMHO. It’s between that, “Raging Bull” and “The Godfather” with “Goodfellas” thrown in. Common demoninator: DeNiro.
