I bought gas last night and noticed that the stickers on the pumps that states "contains 10% ethanol" have been removed from the gas pumps in my area. Meaning that they can put E15 in there without notice.
Be on the lookout for the removal of these stickers at you local dealer, and don't purchase gasoline at stations that don't have the 10% sticker affixed or the ethanol free.
Even my THREE year old Tacoma says no E85.
It is bad for all engines. It is just a lot worse for the older cars, motorcycles, and small engines.
We have had many discussions threads here on FR regarding the issues 10% Ethanol creates with single cylinder engines. It is the worst in cold weather and marine environments.
That would explain why, by law, the protein rich used mash can’t be used as animal feed.
The corn farmers sell even more grain as animal feed...
...and that means we pay more for our meat and eggs!
If only they could. They have federal mandates to use so much every year.
“93 otate premium is $.50 over 87 oxy where I live...”
Ethanol gas typically delivers 15% less MPG.
Factor that into the price of your 87...
I only use 91 octane (highest grade we get - it’s 93 but we’re at 5,000 feet so it’s rated lower) and am very happy.
That’s the way I understand it.
Ethanol has to be marked. If a car not marked for E85 gets filled from a pump that doesn’t advertise it, it would be liable for damages.
Also, I believe E85 pumps are supposed to be marked with a yellow handle, like how diesel is marked green.
Straight premium is all I use in my pontoon boat, lawn mower and other small engines.
“Even my THREE year old Tacoma says no E85...”
Perhaps you do not understand that E85 is 15% gasoline and 85% ethanol.
E15 is what the OP was referring to.
Ditto on your #21! Try running that CRAP in an old Mantis garden tiller! Had to ad “Mechanic in a Bottle” to get the damned thing running right. RPM’s would scale up/down.
Dunno what the deal is there, but try and find a store that sells ethanol free gas.
We have one about a mile from my house, and this place does some serious business as a result.
My lawn equipment and generator loves the stuff!
Thank you for the link to: Check the Pure-Gas site.
They are not only removing stickers from gasoline...
Labels are being removed that state the origin of food and products.
Labels are being removed that states if chickens are range-free, beef is range-feed, grains are GMO-free.
Americans should have an informed choice in what we eat.
E15 voids my warranty.
2013 Tacoma.
Damn them to hell the people who are destroying us with this harrassment.
I hope they get punishment in this world while I am still alive. I’ll bring the rope!
” into the pockets of Iowa corn farmers. “
You misspelled “Monsanto” there.
There is a gas station in Alpine TX that sells non ethan gas.
Which is convenient to about no one.
Actually E15 is 85% gasoline.
In this age of Mullah Obama’s EPA, I don’t trust them.
What was law seems to be optional for the Govt. these days.
I am just concerned that with the removal of the sticker, that they can sell whatever they want, without notice.
You can see on the pump where the sticker was scraped off. I don’t know if they are preparing for a new sticker or what the story is...
Do you have any links to that?
Yeah, you'd think they'd wait until the "up to 15%" stickers were ready, before removing or obscuring the E10 references. Given the agencies that are involved in this, though, the truth is anybody's guess.
