In San Francisco's Richmond District, a couple was attacked they say by a pack of raccoons and if it weren't for a neighbor who came to their rescue, they believe they might have been seriously injured.
Many neighbors in the area say they don't like going out after 11 p.m., not because they worry about getting mugged, but because they worry about a confrontation with raccoons.
Patty Upsavs says she and her husband went out Monday night to let their dog get one last walk and that's when a raccoon pounced.
"So I started swinging the dog around trying to get it off," Upsavs said.
Then a pack of raccoons attacked.
"And then I got another one on my other leg. And so at this point, I'm in the middle of the street and I look up to see, 'Where is my husband? How come he's not helping?' And I look and he's throwing... raccoons are just jumping on him," Upsavs said.

Not necessarily.
We had a similar happening here.
It was early morning and my granddaughter’s dad had just arrived to take her to sigh up for college.
As she started out the door she was rushed by a huge raccoon!
It even kept trying to get through the closed storm door and we could see several more running around behind her.
It scared her pretty badly and she wasn’t about to try getting out that door and daddy was honking, unaware of what was going on.
I finally persuaded her that I would keep them “interested” and to go out the back door.
Needless to say, but the next night I put out some “bait” and the momma and a couple of the near-growed young’uns won’t be doing any more threatening.
The rest seemed to have got it and found somewhere else to hang out..
This is why we have to do something g about guns NOW!
Well, where I’m from, Mama taught us kids a little nursery rhyme.
A shiv is always your best friend
Cause shanks will fail you in the end.
You was probably hearing about Goldilocks and Jack And Jill when we was rumbling with raccoons and possums who was trying to shiv us.
Years ago before I went into WWII we had a neighborhood baseball team that moved around town playing other teams , no adult interferences at the time. One day we cornered a raccoon under a black pastor’s porch and killed it. The pastor suggested we take the raccoon to one of his congregation on our way to the main park for a swim. We took the dead coon to the man who said he would cook it and invited us to stop by when returning from the park. We did just that and the man gave us a taste of southern cooked coon. As I recall it was very tasteful.

A real dog, I like that, my puppy is 140# and raccoons aren't the only things that are scared of him.
As in the Frisco ‘Fighting Coons’?

So that’s why they repainted the water tower over there.
Wow. I guess they somehow domesticated him.
But I should think a minimum of one .380 a piece would be enough.
Years ago, caught a pair with cat traps that were living under my aunt’s farmhouse. They were tearing off the siding. Big boar with one eye missing and a smaller female. Boar was a nasty one. Animal Control picked them up, ostensibly to release in the mountains. They way the talked, sounded like they were going to use them in hollow log fighting (Georgia).
Raccoons on the DoD base at which I work as a contractor. Feds won’t do a thing to control them. They’ll lift the lids on the dumpsters and dive right in.
If I leave after dark, often will see a boar munching away. He won’t even move as I walk by.
