In my neck of the woods, skipping out on paying bus fare is a common practice. People say, what’s the big deal; it’s only $2.50. They don’t realize that with so many people not paying, the public transit agency could go broke. As it is, fares are subsidized through state and federal taxes. Without those subsidies, the real cost of a ride would be a helluva lot more.

Same in my neighborhood. The drivers just wave them on. I think they’re afraid to confront the sons of Obama.
