This baby girl from Nebraska cant stop fawning over her new friend.
The tots mom, identified only as Ann Maree by KETV 7 in Omaha, shared the completely en-deer-ing video of her daughter, Kate, sweetly chasing a young deer in their backyard on Sunday.
Our neighbor pointed out the fawn to us, it was in the backyard, Ann Maree told the TV station. My daughter who is 15 months, decided to walk toward it.

The bambi moms in my yard don’t cotton to approaching their fawns. Some in the ‘hood have vet bills to prove it.
Agree - it looks innocent but definitely could be dangerous. BUT I wanted to spread some cheer after a tough week.
Definitely very cute. I’m an animal lover, no longer a hunter (except if I need food) and a life NRA and 2nd Amendment supporter. Animals do not have calculating agendas as do Hillary and the political class. Citizens need guns for self defense against criminals and tyrants.
As I said earlier I thought it was very cute. That said the realist in me says the mom deer could do some real damage to that toddler, and so could the fawn. I liked the video but people need to be aware of the risk when they allow their toddlers to interact with wild animals no matter how cute.
I hope the kid grows up to be a wildlife biologist or vet or similar. And that she lives long and prospers.
Adorable. But...I had 2 spotted fawns in my backyard that were on one side of the fence and doe was on the other side and my small rat terrier mix ran out to see why the fawns were bellowing and that doe came out and went to rearing up stomping on the pup.
Pup was ok, but I saw the whole thing and I would not want that doe coming after me.
That baby could have been hurt if the doe was nearby.
Animals are warm and fuzzy looking, but——
Not to mention the ticks they carry, potential of Lyme disease
To which I'd add: Many deer carry ticks. Those ticks can transmit Lyme disease, among other nasty things. But all that aside, it is a cute picture.
The animal clearly recognized that this was another baby, albeit a strange one, and not a threat.
Bambi is less interested thsn the kid. It’s a cool life experience though...
As long as there's no lyme disease involved, this is adorable.
It’s a cute video. And I don’t mean to be a wet blanket. But tameness in a wild animal is one of the symptoms of rabies. If you want to pet a deer go to a zoo.
That it is.
And here on Free Republic, we focus on that, while noting the potential dangers. Posters on your typical liberal website would be screaming for the mom's arrest for allowing her child to disturb the fawn.
Crazyivan’s inverted law of mass vs. velocity states that you can run faster while carrying a bear cub than you can without it.
I too am victim of Lyme Dz and I’m confidant the problem is not deer but the whitefooted mouse. The ticks feed, in part, off the mice. The ticks are being transported by birds every spring. Michigan did some extensive studies in the mid 80s and never found a “deer tick” on a deer. Deer tick being defined as “Ixodes scapularus” or damini They found lots of others though.
IYAS9YAS' rule is this: I can run faster scared than you can mad.
Unfortunately, IYAS9YAS has aged significantly, and that rule has been replaced with: I might be old, but I'm slow.
[But tameness in a wild animal is one of the symptoms of rabies]
The deer in our neighborhood are so tame, anyone could walk up and pet them.
