There are many stories out there about Gideon. The similarity to Trump is intriguing. Like Trump, he was not born into politics, but chosen. I'm sure Trump agonized over the decision to run for president. I'm sure too, that he felt called to do this. There are too many things going on, that make me think that he is the one, to lead us from the nightmare of the past six years, and what threatens to follow.
We are on the verge of giving Iran nuclear weapons. We have a president who tosses aside our security now and for ever.
I suggest googling "Gideon" and read the story. I excerpt just one here.
Gideon was the fifth judge over Israel in the book of Judges. He is introduced in chapter 6 of the book while he was collecting wheat and hiding it from the enemy. An angel came to him and asked him to take on the task of overthrowing the Midianites.

You have the right to support socialism, but I also have the right to oppose it. By supporting Trump, you want to steal money from me through higher taxes. You support taking away my healthcare, by his single payer socialized medicine. You are supporting taking people's private property through Trump's extreme eminent domain. People's right to criticize Muslims, because Trump thinks it is taunting. So, he is your cult leader, but he is a nightmare to hardworking Americans who want the government of their backs. You certainly have a right to your beliefs, as do I. I don’t know anything about Perez Hilton. However, I will say this - we are all sinners saved by grace, and none of us are perfect. Whether Trump is a Christian or not - there again, I will leave that up to God. Has he made decisions in his personal life that I disagree with? Probably yes, and things that I, nor you, wouldn’t do. But, we aren’t electing a pastor here. I would certainly think that God can deal with Mr. Trump, as it seems He very well might be doing. Trump is 69 years old, and I assume he knows he isn’t going to live forever> I think he also met recently with Billy Graham. He said the only book better than “Art of The Deal,” is the Bible. SO, I have hope for him, whereas, I’m not sure about obama. He is so far gone and radical - and has brought terrible sins upon this nation. Trump hasn’t done that, and I don’t expect him to do so. He is moving right, and in the right direction, and we have to allow God to work in him.
p.s. By your standards, Jesus would never have chosen Peter our Paul, for that matter. Peter was a fighter, a scrappy fellow. Paul was out killing Chrisitans, and both were turned around. God uses imperfect people to accomplish His will and purposes. Even King David, who God called a man after His own heart was a murderer and and adulterer. And, the list goes on and on. Yet you won’t allow Trump’s past to remain there - I certainly believe God can work with him, not so sure about Obama - who thinks he is God. I view obama as evil - and have no such thoughts about Trump. I view him more as a sinner who needs a savior.

Yes, I see you thought of it before me...Great minds think alike, but seriously, I don’t think Trump woke up one morning and thought to himself, I’m running. I think, in those quiet times, the idea was put into his head by a higher power...and it is taking root. Same as with Lincoln, and other great people.
