It takes a lot for New Yorkers to get mad at any establishment that creates their cities most beloved dish: Pizza. But NYC residents are furious with a local pizza joint for promoting a racist pie. How on Earth can pizza be racist?
Pizza by Certé recently started advertising a picnic themed pizza with ingredients like fried chicken, watermelon and sunflower seeds. And here is what they called it the pic-a-nika. The pic-a-nika. C'mon!
Advocacy group Millions March NYC protested the establishment and tried to get it shut down.

Pi aren’t racist, pi(r^2)!
Ugh, who cares if it is racist or not, it sounds like the most disgusting pizza conceivable.
Dey gave Whitey bigga piece? What duh ‘f!
Ha! and they’re a seriously-lib eatery as well. They advertise themselves as a “Green-minded pizzeria using local ingredients, sustainable methods & eco-friendly materials.”
Oh good grief! lol!
The professionally offended will always find something to be offended about.
lol
What do you eat at a picnic? I eat sandwiches, fried chicken and watermelon.
I don’t mind the Fried Chicken or even the sunflower kernels, but watermelon on pizza. Sloppy and gross. Yuck!
As for the name. Who cares. The perpetually offended are always offended that is what they do.
Half of pregnancies in NYC end in abortion and they are offended by the name of a pizza?
The toppings sound like what you’d get on a pizza if you dropped one face down on a sidewalk in NYC.

Their defense is that they were pronouncing it with a racist accent....wow
They need to investigate why black olives come in a can but green olives come in a jar.
Doesn’t sound racist. Also doesn’t sound edible.
They’re trying to say it is a pika-nigga.
But it seems to me like an Italian immigrant’s way of saying picnic.
“Hay, yousa wanta pizza for yousa pik-anik-a?”
Then again, some people see what they want to see.
What about sun-dried watermelon?
