The Iowa State Fair won’t allow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to give kids free rides on his helicopter on fairgrounds, but the real estate developer has secured a nearby location.
The helicopter will take off from a parking lot outside the fair in Des Moines, campaign state chairman Chuck Laudner told CNN on Friday, adding that Trump may hop on a few rides as well.
CNN previously reported that the Sikorsky is one of three that he owns, seats 12 people comfortably, including the pilot.
Trump will arrive in the $7 million helicopter before holding a press event. Despite Trump’s previous public announcement, his campaign expressed safety concerns about the event becoming so well attended that landing the aircraft could be a challenge.
The helicopter has already arrived in the area. It took three refueling stops to get it here and flew at an altitude of 2400 feet across the county, according to a source familiar with the travel plans.

Donald Trump has a long list of those against whom he holds a grudge, and often marches through a partial recitation of it at campaign events. But his other list, of those he holds in the highest regard, has one name at the top: Ivanka Trump.
At every stop, he introduces his daughter as smart, beautiful and a wonderful person. And in the portion of an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity that aired Wednesday night, he suggested that she’s also his top adviser, on “that whole subject” of “women’s health and women” and beyond that whole subject, too.
At another point in the interview, Trump questioned how Caroline Kennedy got her job as ambassador to Japan, saying all she had to do was tell President Obama that she needed something to do. But Kennedy is a nice person, Trump told Hannity. And he knows this, he said, because Ivanka told him.
“Anybody that Ivanka likes, I like.”

Just watched Trump at a NH event. Anyone that thinks he is a loose cannon buffoon is an idiot. Trump is brilliant at getting his message across. Always working an agenda and very aware of the room.
Not ready to declare him my guy yet but I am enjoying the hell out of the show.
