I am not Christ and thus, as a sinner, an error-prone mere mortal, follow the guidance of I Thessalonians 5:22. I also don't drink alcoholic beverages not because of being "pure" but due my weakness, essentially following the counsel of General Robert E. Lee:

I like whiskey. I always did, and that is why I never drink it.

It's a matter of "lead me not into temptation" in such matters.
