I will say this: it is going to be almost impossible in 2016-17 to get rid of Obamacare, no matter who is Pres. Someone like Cruz might have the will, but if you look at the phenomenal complexity pushed into the system in the last 3 years ,it's going to be like trying to pull grass out of a garden.

An exec order to just "go back to square one" will not re institute all the cancelled policies, undo the mergers, or reinsure people who lost policies because by now most of them have "PRE EXISTING CONDITIONS". Insurers would simply refuse. I cannot imagine even crafting the legislation to undo this mess, let alone the incredible political pressure for each group that will be hurt to beg for some "protection."

I would be genuinely interested in seeing a serious "unravel" plan, which no one has offered except the platitudinous "replace and repeal."

The GOP lost its only chance to stop this in 2011 with the shutdown. Now the state systems are GOING to fail while we'd see insurance companies consolidate even more until we de facto have a "single payer."

Why is it that the same beltway hacks & GOPers that saw no problem in 2012 with Romney's actual policy of socializing medicine in Massachusetts, now hammer Trump for a under formulated opinion on the subject decades ago?

I'll weight that Trump opinion against him - but I did the same against Romney. But since Romney didn't attack illegals, PC, the media, Hillary, China, Mexico... like Trump has, he offered me (a Cruz supporter) no reason to support him.

Could those Trump attacks actually be the reason those beltway hacks & GOPers chose to hammer him on this other issue?

This coming from an editorial writer for Inflamable Bowel Disease ...

Who, before he was an editor to IBD, was a young, idealistic neophyte in college ...

who ... before college was a semi professional girl chaser ... who ... before that thought girls were gunky ....

Look in the mirror, son .... you're different today than three years ago

Well, Trump might change his mind about things. And he certainly doesn’t meet all the stringent criteria from the self-appointed arbiters of conservatism on the FR. So what? We know what the GOPe will do.

We know what we get when we listen to Rove’s moles on the FR. More Bushes and Clintons. “Vote for us! We will really really really oppose the left this time. We promise. Plus we’re not as bad as the liberals.”

I’ll take my chances with Trump.

I don’t understand freepers who hated romney for changing his position on abortion and healthcare but love donald who is pro abortion, anti gun, donated to Hillary, was a registered democrat, etc. Is it the hair? Is it because he screams more?

Being for socialized medicine and then being kind of against it seems to be similar to the established GOP view. They espouse that they are against ACA (the precursor to single payer) yet continue to fund it.
