he College Board, which writes the test that much of the nation's advanced placement course lessons are based on, last week issued a new course and exam description that has more focus on the positive role of the framers, America's effort to rid the world of the Nazi threat during World War II and how entrepreneurs transformed the world's most dynamic economy. Those points of emphasis are expected next year to replace the previous test questions, which some historians and teachers say took a negative view of the U.S. The result is a clearer and more balanced approach to the teaching of American history, the College Board announced Thursday.

“Those who control the present control the past. Those who control the past control the future.”

Coleman, 42, was an architect of the Common Core State Standards which to date have been adopted by 45 states and the District of Columbia. He is a Founding Partner of Student Achievement Partners, a nonprofit organization devoted to the successful implementation of the Standards, where he leads the organizations work with teachers and policymakers to achieve the promise of the Common Core to improve education.

Now, Coleman is in charge of the most important test score a student can receive. As president of the College Board, a national education company, he is redesigning the SAT, the standardized test taken by many high school seniors as a part of the college application process. He is also expanding the Advanced Placement program, which offers college-level classes and tests for high school students.

New information on Common Core alignment by the ACT, SAT, and even GED exams raises questions about the impact Common Core will have on private and homeschooled students and their ability to opt out of the federally incentivized standards if they want to apply for college.
David Coleman, new head of the College Boardwhich administers the SATsaid in an interview with Education Week that one of his top priorities is to align the SAT with the new standards. The Common Core provides substantial opportunity to make the SAT even more reflective of what higher education wants.

Referred to as Common Core lead standards authors by the Council of Chief State School Officers, David Coleman and Jason Zimba are just two in a long list of Common Core creators whose academic roots are with the education-for-a-revolution machine borne by Annenberg Institute, Carnegie Corporation, Bill Gates, et al.

“white supremacy” and “white skin privilege” are the central sins of American life. Thus, Ayers has endorsed a proposal made by Linda Darling-Hammond, an education advisor to Barack Obama, to repay something she calls “education debt” that has, she argues, accumulated over centuries to people of color.

Nonetheless, Ive yet to see a candid acknowledgement by the Western Academic Community, much less the rest of the World Community, that it is the US and Western Europe, and only the US and Western Europe, that have, since the end of WWII, consistently sought to uphold Christian principles that establish when war might be lawful, the avarice and cruelty of war, the treatment of prisoners, when the right of conquest and the claiming of the spoils of war are just and when they are not, the rights of discovery and the treatment of native peoples, the securing of peace as the prime objective of war, issues of maritime law, redress for injuries, restitution of property and recompense for wrongs done, and the laws of embassy and envoys.

That is the problem with revisionist history — it continues to be revised.
They wouldn't be very happy if the United States never existed. Life would be a lot different and a lot worse here on this continent and around the world.
The whiners ancestors would have not left Europe for the free world. They'd probably still be stuck in Europe as serfs or dead from whatever famine that was about to happen or whatever imminent plague.
Their ancestors are probably rolling in their graves.
Certainly, many people procured vast wealth during that period. And most working Americans still led tough lives. But it was also the time of the biggest increase in wealth of the average American ever.
Mostly thanks to the Industrial Revolution, many Americans progressed from living hardscrabble lives on the farm to working in cities and acquiring many of the amazing inventions created during that period.
I am so tired of how colleges denigrate the US nonstop. If not for Western civilization the world would be in a much worse place. Ingrates the pack of them.
Is it that we are tending to see civilization as a continuous upward march, with periodic glitches then leaps forward, ignoring the reality that the timing of humanity is on God’s plans not some generic advancement toward eventual human utopia? If nothing else, we ought realize our developments in AI will tend to make us seem an irrational disease to the purity of machine logic. When the machine arrives at sufficient autonomy and power it will cleanse the environment it occupies to eliminate the ‘irrational diseases’ which could threaten it.
Answer: If our nation's college classrooms were filled to the brim with students firm in their Judeo-Christian belief and fully capable of defending the nation's founding principles, their Marx0crat professors would wither before their righteousness.
And...In one short generation the colleges would staffed with people who loved the Constitution and understood free markets.
Solution: Our government's K-12 socialist-entitlement, single-payer, monopolistic, cartel, and GODLESS schools must be shut down. Any parent who sends their precious child into one of these indoctrination centers is feeding their children spiritual poison.
Exactly. That has been the objective of Progressive (Liberal, Enlightenment, etc) thinking for well over 100 years.
That has been the Progressive dream for well over 100 years.
