It is not clear if the liquor was marketed identifying the viagra additive. If not, what was the benefit of adding the chemical?

I'd suspect that avoiding mention of the "secret" ingredient was done in an effort to avoid law enforcement scrutiny. Once word got around that this liquor "enhanced" your sex life, rumor and word of mouth would be just as effective as direct advertising, but without the risk of being prosecuted.
