While performing a stunt at the Aviamix air show on Sunday, a helicopter belonging to the Berkuty (Golden Eagles) aerobatic team suddenly banked on one side and started to lose height.
The helicopter went into flat-attitude spin and crash-landed,

Interesting. Just saw a video yesterday where the Hughes helo from Magnum crashed the same way. I’m sure it happened a long time ago, though.
It appears his tail rotor quit working after that basic maneuver.
It’s probably an old part or mechanics fault.
It looks like an Apache helicopter from a distance.

The glide-path of a jet stinks but is infinitely better than that of a flat-spinning copter. No autorotation for this.

You are supposed to stay in the helicopter wreckage until the parts quit flying around. The parts are flying very rapidly after this crash. Don’t want to step outside too soon.
Russia has a history of accidents at military air shows.
