Some Americans refuse to give up on Confederate flag

HANOVER, Pa. (AP) -- Many Americans assumed the Confederate flag was retired for good after governors in South Carolina and Alabama removed it from their statehouses this summer and presidential candidates from both parties declared it too divisive for official display.

But people still fly it, and not just in the South, despite announcements by leading flag-makers and retailers that they will no longer sell products showing the secessionist battle flag.

the fag flag offends FAR more people then the confederate flag ever did (before they were told to be offended)

In my part of rural South Louisiana, I would see the battle flag once in a while. Other than a few of my friends that are history buffs like me I have not heard any one talk about the CSA in years. That has all changed, I am seeing more and more Confederate battle flags, and a lot more Gadsden flags. When I talk to the flag owners, each and every one expressed hate for our government. People are waking up, can we avoid another civil war?

A friend of mine in Charleston SC has tolde that he isn’t seeing a lot of ANoVA Battle Flags being flown.

What he IS seeing are lots of the “Big Red” flags, which were very much seccessionist and one of which was flown by the Citadel cadets when they took part in the bombardment of Ft Sumter.

And very few outsiders are wise to it all.

Just to clarify something: the Stars and Bars is the First Confederate National Flag. It has three stripes, red/white/red and a blue field in the upper left corner with a circular constellation of stars.

The “Confederate Flag” is really the Army of Northern Virginia Battle Flag, sometimes referred to as the “Starry Cross”

My preference is a tactical retreat from the front, followed by flanking maneuvers.

Give up on the ANoVA battle flag. But do what the Left does when it’s symbols become politically inconvienient: swap them out with other symbols.

See my post above about the “Big Red” flag. Excellent example of fighting back through subversive means.

There are HUNDREDS of various “Confederate Flags” that cab be cycled through. Make the LEFT have to fight over each and every one. It’ll tick them off, chew up all sorts of their time and resources, make them look like idiots and we can enjoy ridiculing them whenever it takes them a long time to figure out that we’re just taunting them with yet another flag (meets two of Alinsky’s Rules ...)

You will be happy to know - Last week I saw a Stars & Bars flying on an inn up around Cape Ann in Massachusetts. Maybe the innkeepers were confused and thought it was an early colony flag. LOL

In South Carolina and Virginia I have never ever seen so many Battle Flags flying. They’re everywhere, on trucks, in people’s yards and in front of some stores.

Whenever I see a news article that refers to “the Confederate flag” rather than the Battle Flag or the Stars & Bars I figure it’s a young liberal journalism major who wrote the article and not an informed journalist.

When they try to get you to move there they tell you that you can eat dinner out of doors ten months out of the year.

They neglect to mention it’s July and August you can’t.

We bought ours from patriotic-flags.com.
32 x 32 Army of Northern Virginia $38 sewn cotton, embroidered stars
3 x 5 CBF polyester $14 (to take flagging)
3 x 5 Bonnie Blue $40 sewn cotton

Very high quality, Priority Mail shipping for under $9, & very nice people- quick response to emails. I think they’re in South Carolina, IIRC.

We want a Trans Mississippi flag (CBF with colors reversed) but they were sold out.

This is all a wonderful business opportunity for small flagmakers, or for sailmakers and other needle shops to expand rapidly.

I got the last-ever General Lee sold at my Walmart. Went in today, and there was The Bandit’s Pontiac Firebird with the now politically-incorrect 1956-2001 Georgia Flag on the front license plate. May have to go back and get it.

just had a confederate flag ral!y here in Ocala, FL a couple of weeks ago. Many vehicles flying the flag drove around the county. County Commission voted to put 1st Natl flag back up after an interim County Admin had it taken down out of “respect” for those killed in Charleston. The outcry was huge. The flag was part of an historic display at the county govt complex along with French, Spanish, and British flags (all flew over Florida at one time). Of course those were not taken down, only the 1st Natl flag. It was back up within days, unanimous decision by county Commission after public meeting.

Haters like me. I just bought my first CSA flag, which I will proudly fly beneath the noble Republic of Texas (a.k.a. State of Texas) flag.
