I too am mystified. I blinked and missed Spring and the growing season. LOL

Had a productive weekend in spite of the heat and humidity.

Helped Dad set a new post for his mailbox. Finally made space in the hay barn to unload the old wood barn siding that’s been sitting on my trailer all summer. Loaded up all of the wood barn siding that was left over from the restoration of the old coal shed that was moved from Grandparents’ place to Dad’s. That was enough lifting and bending for one day so I just parked the trailer in the barn without unloading it. I’ll get that done one evening this week. I need the trailer to load posts for the fence project I’m working on in the back pasture.

Spent four hours on Saturday and another four yesterday moving dirt with Nanner. I got all of the staging pile that I made last fall dumped into the sippy hole then moved all of the pile that was in the pond to the staging pile. It is finally dry enough in the pond basin to dig and I was able to work around the high side of last summer’s excavation. Now I have a pile of loose dirt in the pond that’s bigger than the one I moved out earlier. It will take a couple evenings after work to move that out if the rains hold off this week.

The neighbor mowed my hay field on Friday, the came back Saturday morning and raked it up into windrows. His plan was to come back around 5:00 to start baling, but a really ugly black cloud blew in from out of nowhere and made him nervous so he started baling at 2:00. The hay was still a little tough, but better to bale it that way than lose it to rain. It made 21 6x5 bales and one little tootsie roll. Enough to feed Mrs. Augie’s horses all winter with some left over.

Found enough good tomatoes to have BLT sandwiches for lunch Saturday and Sunday. Green beans are just about ready to start picking.

It’s good to be back in the office today. I need some rest.
