A personality profile was done years ago on young men who become terrorists. Many had abusive fathers who were living with second wives. Others were simply ne’er-do-wells who were sent to study abroad but couldn’t follow through & gravitated to revolutionary types.
This guy obviously fits into the 1st category, although I see a bit of the 2nd in him as well, since he seemed kind of lost. I saw a lot of this hybrid-type in Europe among the French immigrants.

Imagine the son’s rage, everything Dad was doing is fairly well permissible under Sharia Law.
But for US Law and the (mother clearly deserving of an honor killing) everything Dad’s was doing would be Kosher.
Had Dad successfully moved back to Palestian with the families modest upper middle class wealth from here, the family would have substantial standing there.
The son in turn could find some dirt poor girl to treat like a doormat.
We have no disagreement here. Yours is a fair counter to the “violent childhood” defense. Except that a court or jury would have to accept the premise that sharia was responsible for the childhood. We’re in a society where all violence is the same, and the cause is irrelevant, unless the “violence” is caused by a white Christian conservative. Otherwise, we’re not allowed to accept that sharia is violent; don’t want to offend the peaceful religionists.
