Trump never would've been in the race if a constitutional conservative had gotten in there and not tried to sweet-talk the party elite.

When did Ted Cruz EVER do that? Never. The fact is that Trump got traction because the press thought they could make a monkey of him due to his celebrity status and oddball reputation. They gave Trump a big megaphone and it backfired. The MSM is nothing if not a bunch of morons and losers.

This is the opposite of the suppress, ignore and smother treatment they have afforded Cruz.

That said, more power to him (Trump) to shake hoist the MSM on their own petard.

FWIW, I don't think I'm unique among Cruz supporters. I was one of those original small donations, having real hope after his magnificent 21 hours and his gutsy getting in front of the campaign with his announcement. Cruz's support runs deep.

His numbers went down with that dealing with the devil on trade. Among honorable men, what he agreed to would've worked. They backstabbed him. We were in cyber war here on FR with Cruz supporters, trying to convey that the deal would not end well. I give him credit for recognizing and admitting what happened.

Now Cruz has to learn to make better deals. He has to drop the "we need more H1Bs" nonsense. And he has to refuse to deal with anyone but honorable men and women.

Cruz can learn from Trump. And Trump can use Cruz's inside knowledge and experience with Constituional law and the gov.

That's why I like the idea of Trump as the candidate and the mentor for DC pols who want to break free from that poisoned DC sewer.
