Girlfriend Demands Man Sell His Dog, So He Takes Out an Ad… Now She’s Furious
Craigs List via Stuff Happens via Conservative Tribune ^ | April 2014

When two people come together to form a relationship there are often adjustments in lifestyle that must be made by both parties.

Recently, a man in Virginia was told by his girlfriend that she didn’t care for his dog, giving him the ultimatum that he must choose between her and the animal.

So the man posted an ad to Craigslist explaining the situation and searching for a new home for his soon-to-be ex-companion.

The ad read:

“MY girlfriend does not like my beagle Molly. SO I have to re-home her.

“She is a purebred from a wealthy area and I have had her 4 years. She likes to play games. Not totally trained. Has long hair so she’s a little high maintenance, especially the nails, but she loves having them done.

“Stays up all night yapping but sleeps while I work. Only eats the best, most expensive food. Will NEVER greet you at the door after a long day or give you unconditional love when you’re down. Does not bite but she can be mean as hell!

“So … anyone interested in my 30 year old, selfish, wicked, gold-digging girlfriend? Come and get her! Me and my dog want her re-homed ASAP!!” (H/T Qpolitical)

True love doesn’t make demands of others, but rather figures out a way to work out problems in a manner both can agree on.

This man understood that the love shared between him and his pet beagle was true, gentle and undemanding, unlike that between him and his girlfriend.

There is a reason that dogs are called “man’s best friend.”

Mine won’t take treats from strangers.

Even if I “okay” the treats, they just stand there and stare at them.

At PetCo last Sunday, I had to give Odin the treat the cashier gave him as a birthday gift and even then, I had to break it up into tiny pieces and “nibble it” before he’d eat it.

:D

^This^

Himself would not be here, let alone be ‘hubby’ if my pack had not roundly okayed him the night I met him, back in 1993.

The Ibizans checked him out first and when they deemed him worthy, I turned 2 Dobes and Pit loose on him.

To my surprise, they did not eat him.

He’s been here ever since.

I have a feeling that she intended to “change” [neuter/subjugate/whip] him in more ways than this, which was a shot across the bow/warning flag.

He got lucky.

She showed her hand before there was a wedding band on it.

I believe you meant ‘quod erat demonstrandum’?...how is what I originally stated exactly restated in my conclusion? Or did you mean something else?

If you have seven children, then the oldest of the bunch is plenty old enough to have as a chore a daily “poo-patrol” to clean the piles so others don’t track the stuff everywhere.

Cats messing up the house? Really? A few stray hairs is a huge mess?

I’m willing to wager that you didn’t grow up with pets (fish and birds don’t count).

As others said, if your hubby’s dog and companion of years bit you, there has to have been some action or signal from you that triggered such a response. Dogs don’t just “decide to bite”, they have a reason (in their little pea-brain). It may not make sense to us, but many things we do don’t make sense to them either.

That Beagle is adorable. They are very gentle and affectionate dogs.

The gf must be either a control freak or something else is wrong with her.

The cats aren’t that bad. They just try to escape outside on a regular basis. The dog had an ear infection and I was giving him his medicine. I know why he bit me. It was still scary and extremely painful. I just don’t need that kind of extra concern/hassle in my life. Not right now. I’d rather concentrate on the humans already in my life. So many of you saying you don’t like or trust people who don’t like dogs is a bit narrow-minded and silly.

I can just see that conversation.

(Himself leaves the house; you turn to the pack)

“You didn’t eat him?”

Doggie grins abound.

“You’re not telling me you like the guy?”

Tails wag and thump the floor.

“I guess I’ll have to marry this one. I can’t believe *all* of you like him. What a trea-—No! No! I didn’t say-—fine. Let’s all get a treat.”
