I haven't seen Travis Mcgee for a while. His last post on FR was on 6/15, and his (Matt Bracken's) last Facebook posting was the same day.
Anyone know the story?
Good to know people are looking out for others. Its such a dangerous time and we really don’t know how far this government will go to shut us down, figuratively or literally. Thanks for your concern for a fellow FReeper. You did good!
Travis needs to check in every now and then... probably doesn’t know he’s missed...
Good for him. He’s familiar with the Bay having been born in Baltimore. If I was visiting my Mom on Trippe Creek, I’d flag him down and get him some Smith Island crab cakes.
I agree, it’s sad when one day you realize that a old timer has vanished and you don’t know why.
Me, I’ll either opus out (not likely), but have left instructions to others if I croak.
I’ve often thought we should have a buddy system here where we pair up and check on each other every so often.
He is, and he is. He'll be back soon, and he's got our backs.
He is, and he is. He'll be back soon, and he's got our backs.
He is, and getting some of that fine sea air as well, of course!
We might miss a couple of times, if we were to dump the entire magazine....
Your ride's here.
Concur.
Okay, Herr Travis, und vhere do ve fit der sail?
And you just assumed he meant the east coast of the United States? Travis?
Ah,hahahahahahahahahahahahahah! Good one!
Gotta go my rendezvous' so long over due.

I’d love to be a “fly on the wall” and watch his reaction when he returns AND finds this post about him. If whatever he is doing is mundane... he’ll have to make a good story up! Pirates, sharks, kidnapped and escaped... something good. :)
I've got a Wyoming-made F.E. Meanea rig my granddad picked up used around 1920. Made for a Colt SAA, he carried a cut-down S&W Triple-Lock in it long enough it now fits an N-frame S&W much better than it does a Colt. It is probable that it is a veteran of the notorious 1892 Johnson County War, which took place just one county away from our place in Wyoming.
El Paso Saddlery makes a great copy of Tom Threepersons holsters.
As with General Patton's famous two-gun rig, I don't think the El Paso version can be called a copy. I believe they built the original for TomT, or possibly a little nicer Sunday-go-to-meeting rig following his prototype. But in any event, El Paso Saddlery still uses the original patterns and machinery they did back when Charlie Bluemel kept 'em honest.
Nah. Travis would be the first one to tell you that the only dumb question is the one that you don't ask when you're curious about something.
If Travis had a reason to disappear for a short while, or probably for a longer one, there wouldn't much of a trail to follow. Except for false ones, laid as distractions.
Okay, maybe Trav would be the second one to tell you....
Hey Squantos! Hold my slide rule and beer, and watch this!
