The reality is the millions of illegals here can't/won't be sent back - there is no way to do that. As criminals are identified, certainly they should be sent back (that won't happen until Obama is out).
It appears some Freepers think we can just lay our hands on all illegals and shove them aback across the border. The illegals live in the shadows if they have no job and we will never be able to get rid of those except for the ones who turn criminal.
I think what will happen, if a conservative is elected president, the border will be closed to stop the wave coming in and a person with a job here will have to be scrutinized to determine if the worker is a citizen (this will be done through government records, not through any paper/document given by the worker as that could be forged).
If the worker isn't a citizen, worker will be given a card (could be a different color than a green card), that identifies the worker and puts the worker in the govn. system, but never be a citizen unless the worker applies for citizenship and goes through the legal system to do that.
None of this will be easily done, but there has to be a starting place to finally account for these people, and stop others from coming in.
One may say if the worker gets identified of not being a citizen, the worker should be jailed and then sent back to wherever the worker came from. I doubt this will happen, but maybe it could work. The ones left would be the ones who stay home and don't work so they aren't found out by getting a job.
The reality is that we can and do have the ability to identify and send them back. We just lack the will.
We can do anything we set out minds to. Or we can keep telling ourselves we can’t. Period.
