"Most kids carry their cell phone in their back pocket, and if someone reaches for it, in my mind they're reaching for a gun," said Al Della Fave, a retired New Jersey state trooper and firearms instructor. Dellla Fave, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office in New Jersey, shared a Facebook (FB, Tech30) photo of the iPhone case that he found on a closed social media site for cops. A model poses with her phone tucked into her back pocket, and the protruding case looks like the handle of a semiautomatic compact pistol.

It's almost as if the thing was designed and marketed by ISIS - or Obama.
Really...really dumb.
I carry my LCP in a Sneaky Pete holster. Looks like an iPhone case and clips to the belt.
There are two really sad facts that come immediately to mind.
1. There are cops in America so damned stupid they will think this is a real gun.
2. There are members of the public so damned stupid that they will think this is a problem caused by people using the phone case, rather than degraded intellectual standards for law enforcement.
I need to buy a few of these as free gifts for some youth I know.
I especially like the "SP" monogram on the outside so everyone knows I have a Sneaky Pete holster.
Someone is going to get their ass shot off over this.
A. Shoot
B. Wait and give them a chance to shoot you, if it's a gun, because you only have a split second to choose. In close situations, the first one with a shot that hits, wins.
You decide.
Buying one of those things is asking for trouble. Why would any God-fearing person even walk around with that sticking out of their pocket making ANYONE think they had a gun? Hmmmmmm??? Walk into an airport with that in your pocket, or, a bank, or a hospital. Oh man...this nation is dissolving into raw stupidity.
Must be a city thing.
A kids get suspension for pointing a finger and this is allowed? Sounds like a plan intentionally intended to confuse cops so chaos can kill more people.
In Murphy’s Law book 1, there was a saying that went something like this. ‘ The intelligence of the earth is a constant but the population is growing.’ This seems more accurate every day.
“1. There are cops in America so damned stupid they will think this is a real gun.”
There are people in America that are so damned stupid they won’t know this is the intent.
Hope the manufacturer enjoys the temporary profits. They’ll need them for the inevitable lawsuits the first time a kid gets more than they bargained for carrying this.
What did Einstein say? Seems like he said something to the effect of, “There are two things that are potentially infinite, the universe and human stupidity and I’m not sure about the universe.” Well...it was close to that.
Indeed.
And those who are trained, licensed, background-checked, printed, and practiced have to be SO careful to conceal the real thing, unless,of course, your state has “Constitutional Carry”.
The whole premise of this product is stupid and evil.
I agree, It is better to carry a real firearm. A fake firearm serves no purpose.
I'm pretty confident that this is not allowed on school property.
So stupid in fact that an extremely thin and tall glass and plastic thing which glows on one side looks the same to them as a square steel slide with a thirty or forty-five calibre barrel sticking out of it.
Not only are they that stupid, but they gibber about it, not even realizing stupidity on that level earns mockery.
Don't be fooled though. You are being mocked.
You have earned it.
Make no mistake. I am laughing at you.
This was a typical activity during my childhood. The time of the Watts riots, the weathermen, Kent State, and the SLA.
The people who we allowed to be in law enforcement then could tell the difference between a gun, and not-a-gun. You and your compadres can't.
No amount of shrill carrying on by your bunch will bring me around to thinking that the people who share your lack of visual perceptive ability don't need to be excluded entirely from law enforcement.
