"Most kids carry their cell phone in their back pocket, and if someone reaches for it, in my mind they're reaching for a gun," said Al Della Fave, a retired New Jersey state trooper and firearms instructor. Dellla Fave, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office in New Jersey, shared a Facebook (FB, Tech30) photo of the iPhone case that he found on a closed social media site for cops. A model poses with her phone tucked into her back pocket, and the protruding case looks like the handle of a semiautomatic compact pistol.

Who will be the first to pull a *real* gun thinking it’s his iPhone and blow his head off? And then the maker of this gadget gets sued...
3. There are people so stupid they think this is a cute, harmless idea.
That thing looks too much like a gun to be pulling that out of one's pocket in public these days is MY point of view. Small children with it would be one thing, teenagers and adults with it is an entirely different matter. Context also matters. That being said, look at how you present an argument. You saying things like, "You're being mocked." and so forth is not conducive to a peaceful resolution. I defer to respond from now on...it will only escalate into a dispute to which there is no end. We'll just have to see what happens to those who buy and use this thing.
4. There are people so stupid that they think it is 1950.
Get one of these and have a friend videotape you walking into an airport with that sticking out of your pocket and you will convert me.

They put head cases like this in mental hospitals when they suffer from such severe paranoia as to present a danger to others. Especially when their illness is centered around killing people (children!) who reach for cell phones who the mentally ill person imagines to be after him. If I owned a gun shop, I would find a way to keep the psycho disarmed.
This mad man instructs cops...and then we wonder why police officers are so insanely trigger happy and disrespectful to people. If you were taught to look at everyone as a potential killer (a crazed animal), you would see human beings as cheap. You might hate them enough to shoot their pets just to hurt them for being human beings.
... in my mind they're reaching for a gun...Then get your mind right, Al.
This is the thought process of a a chicken-shit who see's all citizens as a threat. He should be disarmed.

When your life hangs in the balance and your family awaits you at home and you see that thing come out of someone's pocket in a bad situation, you:
C. Get new job where you don't imagine that your life hangs in the balance at all times.
I’m sure the buyers of this don’t even realize they are helping the work of eugenics by thinning the herd of inferior genes.
Sorry, have to agree with the cops on this one. That bling will get you killed.
Are you drunk this early, or just being a fool for a day? There is nothing that looks even remotely like a gun barrel on that thing. The only part that is visible when it is in a pocket looks like the grip and slide of a semi auto pistol. It is obvious that you are not familiar with firearms so you surely have never been in a position (LEO/Seccurity/Military) to have to be concerned about facing violence at any instant. Therefore, your opinions suck. Please stay out of conversations where you don’t have a single, solitary clue about the subject.
I’m just this side of 60.
I’m not a cop now nor have I ever been a cop.
You don’t have the slightest clue what you’re talking about because my entire life it’s always been common for police to shoot armed robbery suspects that were armed with nothing more than a toy gun.
I can put a real 1911 and a fake 1911 on a table any nobody on the face of the planet can tell the difference in the real and the toy until they pick it up the toy and try to load it.
I predict a sudden rise in cop-related dead teenagers.
Holy cow.
If it's an open carry state then why should this be a concern?
Just a form of symbolic open carry.
How about a photo? I ain’t goin’ for the CNN clickbait.
Is that a photo of the actual item, or something cobbled together for comedy?
