Use Time Machine to backup? That’s a joke. Whenever I reboot my router, Time Machine can find the backup Time Capsule, but the TM backups fail. I still haven’t solved that problem. Meanwhile, SuperDuper works flawlessly every time to my external La Cie rugged drives via FireWire.

I've never had a problem with Time Machine. if SuperDuper works for you, stay there. I tend to be a suspenders and belt kind of guy for backups and do several different types of backups.

Me, too. TM for the convince of networked storage and timed backups. External drives every month or two. Very frustrating about TM. Web is full of similar complaints.
