...Internet and getting a FEW Channels(Fox News, History, H2, and AHC etc...)?
I cut the cable two months ago and could care less about ever having a TV again.
Sports was the only thing I cared for anyway and they have ruined all those also.
I feel liberated not having any of that programming beamed into my home.
Did you get the Roku Streaming Stick or the Roku machine?
Do it, you will go through a period of ‘withdrawal’ but eventually you will be happy.
I pulled the plug 2 years ago and I’ve not regretted my decision. I ditched the cable box and instead upgraded my internet plan. I still cut my bill by more than 2/3. I also realized how much tv I had been watching are how much time I was wasting that I could devote to other things. It’s been great because I’ve gotten back into several of my old hobbies and find my time is better spent. When you ditch cable and subscribe to services like Netflix or Hulu, your viewing habits change. Your watching becomes ‘focused’, you turn on the TV because you want to watch something specific.
Be warned though, while new services are starting to appear. It can still be difficult to find sports stations, which is big reason many can’t drop cable.
Sports....not missing them plus some are on regular TV
I got sick and tired of all the loud, larger than life, TV personalities being beamed into my house. They have been evicted. I will admit that in a few years I might want cable TV. So I will get it. But not for a few years. I like it this way
I pulled the plug two years ago. Get every thing from these links.

Yes, they do; but, they have a lot (and I mean A LOT) of ads/commercials between the songs. In fact, before I stopped using it, I was getting an ad after every 2 songs. I could go on my FM station and get a long play of songs on a regular basis w/o the ads. So, I bit the bullet and went to the "pay" Pandora, and I am a lot happier. No ad interruptions, just music. I listen to it most of the day when I am at home, so I consider it worth the fee.
Cut my cable about 2 years ago.
I like baseball on radio (theater of the mind vs. mindless staring at the pitcher, batter, then somebody in the dugout).
I visit relatives on Sunday, so I get to mooch off their TV for football.
Nothing else I really care to watch on TV.
I cancelled Hulu (too many ads). Netflix is ok, but I could do without. There’s plenty on Youtube (install Ad Blocker first).
Cut TV entirely.
It is the habit of watching it, that is the problem, not whether you are watching cable, or antenna.
Can you name that Internet streaming website?
Can you name that Internet streaming website?
if you live near a metropolitan area you can make a simple over the air antenna OTA lots of plans/videos on the net. Most tv’s since around 2009 have built in tuners or you can get one and add it on.
check this site, put your address in and it will show you what channels you can probably get with indoor or outdoor antenna.
I cut my cable and only wish I had done it years ago. I also use Netflix and got a tv that had built in Roku box.
À la carte
Get rid of your cable, and you kids will be more likely T maintain their Mora compass.
How much tv do you really need to watch anyhow
I use Mozilla Firefox, it puts a wavy red line under misspelled words. Just click on it to correct before posting.
I fixed my washer from youtube too- I had a Samsung front loader and I thought it was horrible- barely made your clothes damp and left them filled with soap to they point they disintegrated afterwards
I thought it was the new ‘30 gallon’ idiotic law- but I found on YouTube a way to adjust the water level now the water fills to the correct level, and the clothes wash GREAT!!! I love it now, but they deserved all the bad mouthing I did for not calibrating it before it left the factory.
“Did you get the Roku Streaming Stick or the Roku machine?”
I bought the 50 hdmi stick for my tv. Apparently turns tv into “smart” tv.
Go cold turkey and don’t look back. We did it 13 years ago. Our kids have an IQ as a result.
