Buffo toads, found in Florida, will cause hallucinations when licked. As least, that’s what kids say there.

Wonder what prompted the original discoverer of that to lick a toad in the first place.
My science teacher in the 7th grade got mad at me because I insisted that a toad was a frog. She was a very cranky person. Looks like I was right.
