Buffo toads, found in Florida, will cause hallucinations when licked. As least, that’s what kids say there.

Wonder what prompted the original discoverer of that to lick a toad in the first place.

My science teacher in the 7th grade got mad at me because I insisted that a toad was a frog. She was a very cranky person. Looks like I was right.

From Wikipedia:

A distinction between frogs and toads is not made in scientific taxonomy, but is common in popular culture (folk taxonomy), in which toads are associated with drier skin and more terrestrial habitats than animals commonly called frogs.
