Good post. Scholarly and interesting. We revolted in part to keep George III from corrupting colonial governments as the Hanoverian English monarchs had corrupted parliament.

There was a TV show many decades ago called “***’s Law”. Today, there is only “Obama’s Law” (Or “Holder’s Law”). Same thing.

In the 1930’s it was called “Hitler’s Laws” or “Stalin’s Laws”.

Nothing changes except the dictator.
