Anyone with windows 8 is left out. You must upgrade to 8.1 for the free upgrade. My computer refused to find the “Store” to upgrade to 8.1. Is this a common occurrence to cheat people out of windows 10?

I don’t think so. Even my parents, who are notorious for screwing up their computer, successfully upgraded from 8 to 8.1.
It happened to me. I had to call Dell Tech support who figured out the problem after an hour and sent the 8.1 upgrade to my computer.

Anyone? No. My laptop was 8 and I updated to 8.1 with no problem as soon as it was available. I already had 8.1 on my desktop.
Windows 8 had a serious issue that made it susceptible to some of the security issues of the day (Heartbleed, I think?). They forced everyone to 8.1, because 8.0 was susceptible to a zero-day attack that they could not patch without the OS being hosed.
